DVS Resolution Dual Vapor Sorption Gravimetric Analyzer

The DVS Resolution is the world's most advanced vapor sorption gravimetric analyzer, designed to measure water vapors and organic vapors with extremely high precision. It combines the ability to accurately control and measure both temperature and relative humidity while recording the finest changes in mass.

How Does DVS Resolution Work?

This system uses a dry carrier gas, typically nitrogen or compressed air, for operation. The digital mass flow controllers regulate dry and saturated gas flows, creating a precise mixture that generates the desired relative humidity.

In a typical experiment, a sample is exposed to a known concentration of water vapor. This sample is placed inside a container connected to the UltraBalance™ from Surface Measurement Systems, which records mass changes in real time caused by sorption or desorption of water molecules. Before sorption measurements, the sample can be pre-heated or dried in situ at temperatures up to 200°C.

Exclusive Features and Benefits

Stable Temperature and Humidity

The sample chamber and water vapor generation are maintained in thermal equilibrium within a single temperature enclosure, allowing operation without condensation risk across a wide temperature range (5-85°C).

  • Long-term Thermal Stability: Typical stability at 25°C is ± 0.02°C.
  • Avoids Condensation Problems: Unlike other instruments with multiple temperature zones, DVS Resolution offers stable control, preventing unwanted condensation.
  • Precise and Stable Humidity Delivery: Humidity is generated and maintained with high precision throughout the process.

High Precision Humidity Performance

  • Accuracy of ± 0.1% RH: The highest humidity accuracy available in any instrument in our line.
  • Baseline Stability: Stability is maintained for up to 24 hours, ensuring reliable results.
  • Mass Change Resolution: Resolution reaches 0.1 μg, with average noise ≤ 0.3 μg, allowing detection of tiny mass changes.

True0â„¢ RH: DVS Resolution's Exclusive Feature

  • True0â„¢ RH: The only DVS instrument offering the True0â„¢ RH function, capable of achieving water partial pressures as low as 0.0% RH.
  • Complete Drying Studies: Allows investigation of hydrates and other compounds drying completely below 1% RH.
  • Investigation at Low RH Levels: Enables detailed study of sorption and desorption even at extremely low relative humidity levels.

Conclusion

The DVS Resolution offers superior precision, stability, and performance, making it ideal for advanced vapor sorption and desorption studies. Its innovative design and exclusive features ensure it is the best choice for scientific and industrial applications requiring high precision and reliability.
